Lyme Bay Escapes
A slow WordPress site rebuilt as a fast, direct-booking website for a holiday-let business on the Jurassic Coast.
Lyme Bay Escapes manage and let holiday homes in and around Lyme Regis. Their WordPress site took over 18 seconds to show its main image on a phone, weighed 3.5 MB, and its enquiry button led to a missing page.
We rebuilt it on the GWD Site Kit, on a small server of its own. Properties, photos, reviews and availability are copied from their booking system every 15 minutes, so the site is always right, and guests see a live price for their dates before they're handed to the secure booking checkout to pay. Owners enquire through a form that lands in the admin and in the team's inbox.
The old owners' portal was replaced with a new one inside the same site, with the booking-system keys kept safely on the server. The site went live within a week.
